"Dusk, Melting" is the 7th Track from MIRROR Album,
a 9th Studio Album by Japanese rock band, SCANDAL.
Dusk, Melting is a song that Haruna (Vocal/Guitar) wrote. It's about a process of oneself to gradually started accepting the state of things and feel the positive feelings surging forth of how we must do whatever we're able to right now, in our own way. To live true to yourself, and express yourself the way you want to.
This project is a personal project as a challenge for me to make a CD cover.
The reason of why I choose this song is that I want to imagine if this song was released as a Single and I got the opportunity to make a CD cover for them.
I'm not working together with SCANDAL at the moment, but I would love to if there's any opportunity in the future.
CONCEPT
I wanted to give strong visual of a Dusk, while also paying attention to the setting of the Song. Haruna wrote the song about the scenery she saw while she walk her dog in the city. So, I drew around that setting. I also tried to put a cloud to visualize the smell of rain that lingered faintly. Of course on top of it, I wanted the art to look and feels as nostalgic as the song.
